Irish-American writer, producer and director, Matilda, dies aged 93

Matilda is a new movie based on the Irish author of the novels, Matyfrid Matyfiad and the film is due to be released in the UK this summer.

It tells the story of Matilda’s childhood in Dublin in the 1940s, and includes a cameo by actress, actor and comedian, John Cleese.

“The film has been a wonderful experience for all of us,” said Irish writer-producer and director Matilda.

“I’m extremely honoured to be part of the production team.

“There is no way that I could have imagined what we would achieve as a team, but we are thrilled that we have made this epic story of a young woman who grew up in Ireland. “

“This is a story about a woman who was given the opportunity to make her mark on the world. “

She never wanted to be a mother and, instead, was left with no other option than to become a writer.” “

“She became the first woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for fiction for a novel and was the first to win the National Book Award for a book of fiction,” said writer and producer Mary-Louise Walsh.

“Matilda was a wonderful and inspiring character,” added film producer and actress Catherine O’Hara. “

And she was just the most talented woman I have ever known.”

I love the way it relates to our world and its stories. “

It’s a beautiful story, full of depth, humour and sadness.

Matilda was first released in 1962 and has since been followed by many other Irish-born authors including Cormac McCarthy and Cormac MacMurphy. “

For me, she is the perfect female character for this movie.”

In terms of the film itself, the story is incredibly touching, and we hope it will inspire young people to take part in the literary process, to write and to think and write and write.”
