In this week’s movie review, we look at how the movie made it onto the list of top-grossing movies of 2017.
WATCH: ‘Watchmen’ – Trailer Watchmen is the latest movie from writer/director Zack Snyder and director David Ayer and it hits theaters on April 12.
Snyder, who directed The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel, said in a recent interview that he and Ayer were inspired to create the superhero film after seeing the success of The Dark Universe.
Watchmen, which follows a group of people trying to stop a man named Atom who is turning the world into a cyborg-free society, has been a box office success, with a $1.6 billion global gross.
Ayer, who also wrote the script for the movie, has said that Watchmen was meant to be a sequel to the comic book series and not the start of a new movie.
WatchMEN: Zack Snyder Interview Watchmen opens April 12 and it has a budget of $150 million, but that’s not all that much money compared to the more than $300 million the movie has earned in theaters.
This means the film could have earned as much as $2.6 million in box office grosses, or about the same as the top-rated superhero movie, The Avengers.
Watch men has been one of the most profitable superhero films, and the story of the film has been an unexpected success.
The film has grossed more than 8.7 million dollars domestically and more than 7.5 million overseas.
